Amanda Carroll

"The picture perfect life is attainable, it's just the contents of everyone's picture is different."

Amanda Carroll knows this first hand.  As single mom of 3 children, she works hard at loving the life she lives, even if it's not the way she planned.

Amanda began her broadcasting career when her parents gave her a dual deck boom box in 1988.  She recorded her own shows, even wrote and  voiced her own commercials at age, 11.

After receiving her broadcast journalism degree from Indiana University, she became "official" as the evening news anchor for AM-1230 WJBC in Bloomington, IL where she won 2 awards.  UPI Best Reporter, 2nd Place, and AP News Best Spot News.

After relocating to Houston, she found her calling while sitting in traffic one day and finding a Contemporary Christian Radio station on her dial.  "I wonder if they need a news person?", she thought.   A couple phone calls later, and Amanda was a news anchor for 89.3 KSBJ-Houston, and eventually became the co-host of the afternoon show. She went on to co-host the morning show at WGTS 91.9 in Washington D.C., and then landed the midday host position on the national network K-LOVE.

Now, as a single mom, her ministry has expanded. In addition to broadcasting, she maintains a daily blog to encourage single moms at She sits on the advisory board and speakers bureau for The Life of a Single Mom Ministries, and enjoys speaking engagements that help connect single moms to each other, and most importantly into a relationship with God.

What may surprise you about Amanda is she is also a CrossFit athlete.  In her little spare time, you can find her WODing at her local "box".

Her family motto is:  "See needs and meet them.  Change the way the world sees God, one life at a time."
