Derek Cutlip
Derek Cutlip grew up in Arizona and attended school at the University of Arizona before transferring to Whitworth College in 1986.
After falling in love with the Inland Northwest and four true seasons of the year, and also having no desire to move back to the Desert Southwest, God called him to a youth ministry position in Sandpoint, Idaho from 1987-1990.
He landed a job at a prominent Christian radio station in 1991 when moving back to Spokane, and eventually moved to Colfax, Washington to continue school and finish earning his degree at Washington State University (Go Cougs!).
After seven years in Colfax as the Associate Pastor at Community Bible Church, God called Derek back to Radio Ministry in Spokane. He served as an On-Air Personality with KTSL 101.9FM from 1999-2002 and then moved to Moody Radio 107.9FM as Morning Host from 2002-2010.
He currently serves as Chaplain of Huntwood Industries in Liberty Lake. He is a board member of Safe Families for Children, LifeServices, and also is Morning Show Producer/News with Shine 104.9. He also is the Owner/Operator of Veritas Vox Production Studios.
Derek grew up in the Church, and gave his life to Jesus in the summer of ’79 at a Church Camp in Arizona. He has two adult daughters, Shilah Grace and Caelah Rae. He enjoys music, golfing, camping, Arizona Basketball (Go Cats!) and Gonzaga Basketball (Go Zags). His favorite movie is Princess Bride and any ‘True to Life’ Biopic that has to do with music…His favorite scripture is Colossians 3:12 -17:
"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
